The main reason for putting coffee into your enema, is to clear the liver of toxins and cleanse the blood. These toxins occur from the normal metabolisms of food as well as the carcinogenic toxins that we absorb on a daily basis from our polluted environment. These toxins also enter our bodies in the form of medications, food and water pollutants such as pesticides, preservatives, hormones, excreted prescription drugs (where water is recycled) and fluoride.
In order to cleanse and detox our blood, we need to detox the bodies primary blood detoxifying organ – the liver. your entire blood supply circulates through your liver every three minutes. When you perform a coffee enema you retain it in your colon for about 12 to 15 minutes which means your blood will flow through your liver four or five times during this process.
What is the Role of Glutathione?
Glutathione is primarily synthesised in the liver. It is the primary antioxidant that is prevalent in every cell in the human body, it removes WASTE via the glutathione s-transferase (GST) enzyme system. Glutathione s-transferase (GST). GST essentially blocks and binds to toxins, so the they can be eliminated via the colon.
How does Coffee help boost Glutathione?
Coffee is high in two Palmatic Acids – kahweol and cafestol palmitate. These palmatic acid in the caffeine gets absorbed by the portal vein and this boosts glutathione s-transferase (GST) enzyme system, by up to 600 percent in the liver and results in a 700% increase in detoxification in the small intestine.
The lower colon is designed to re-absorb liquids from waste so the coffee and water is absorbed by the colon into the liver. The hemorrhoidal blood vessels dilates from exposure to the caffeine, in turn, the liver’s portal veins dilate too. The bile ducts expand with blood, the bile flow increases, and the smooth muscles of these internal organs relax and the palmatic acid stimulates the GST detoxifying action. The water stimulates internal peristalsis and dilutes the bile and causing an increase in bile flow. All of these actions ultimately assist in flushing toxins from the liver and bile into the colon which is removed from the body when its time to expel the enema and helps prevent toxic bile reabsorption in the lower intestine.
There are many liver detoxifying herbs on the market – such as dandelion tea, milk thistle and oregon grape which work primarily by increasing bile flow. Bile carries toxins out of the liver, over time an increase in bile flow creates a detoxifying action on the liver. However, its important to realise that bile does not exit the body immediately once it leaves the gall bladder and moves into the intestines. A good portion of bile and the bile salts are reabsorbed into the body, which means it can take some time for these toxins to actually leave. This can be bad news for most of us living in a heavily polluted society as we need to be removing toxins at a much faster rate than our body can handle.
The good news is this bile-detoxifying process can be dramatically speed-up by the use of coffee enemas. The flushing action of the coffee enema safely carries the toxic bile out of your body quickly and effectively as the body will not be able to reabsorb the toxic bile back through the walls of the gut as usual. This greatly increases the removal of toxic bile from the body, resulting in a cleaner liver, and therefore cleaner blood. This is why so many people report feeling absolutely fantastic after they being using coffee enemas. They are kind of like a super-highway to get the toxins out of your body.
Coffee enemas are a great way to relieve your liver of the extra toxins it is carrying, as well as providing your body with an opportunity to renew its Bile Salts. Did you know that emptying your bile into your duodenum is not enough to cleanse it? It is important to eliminate those salts, otherwise they are recycled – your body re-absorbs the bile salts, which may contain toxins, for re-use up to ten times.
Flushing with an enema certainly helps this process, however if you want to give it a bit of an extra detoxifying power, you can take Activated Charcoal orally about 20 minutes before you do your flush. This will give the activated charcoal a chance to move its way down your digestive tract and position itself optimally to absorbs the toxic load dump with the bile upon flushing.
Activated charcoal is great at removing heavy metals – especially lead. Many people have reported great results with this method. It is available through Amazon and also at many health food stores.
Did you realise that western toilets are ergonomically incorrect and make it harder to properly eliminate your poop?
The human colon is not design to function that way – mother nature didnt invent chairs for us to sit on while we pooped. In nature we would squat to poop – and this action of squatting down allows you bowl to “un-kink” itself – aiding in the passage of faecal matter when you go to the loo.
The recently released squat-potty is a great way to mimic this squatting action in your own home on your western toilet. The squat-potty allows you to “squat” while you do your business. This facilitates greater bowel movements – which will aid in emptying you out, can help constipation and bloating, and a general sense of wellbeing.
The squat potty is also good if you are doing a detox, as it helps you to feel like you are eliminating your toxins more quickly via bowel movements, which will help prevent toxin-reabsorption in the large intestine, while faeces sits around waiting to be fully evacuated.
Okay, so you want to know if you have a healthy colon? Here are some of the signs – yes people, I am going to have to talk about poop. Can you handle it?
- A healthy colon should have you pooping 2-3 times a day (one big one when you wake up and smaller ones later in the day).
- Your poop should be easy to pass, long and tubular, and break apart when flushed. If you are constipated there could be issues with peristalsis strength.
- Your “end-to-end” elimination time ideally should be 18 to 24 hours.
- Poop should be light brown and not be too stinky.’
- Your skin shoudl be clear skin free from blemis
- You should have mild-smelling breath. Having bad breath is a warning sign that there could be something wrong with your colon.
There are several ways you can determine how long it takes for food pass from through your body (your elimination time), which is an indicator of good colon health.
One popular method is to eat beetroot (the whole beet not just the juice!) – make a note of the time and keep an eye out for them to appear in your stools – your stools will turn a distinct beet-reddish colour. Don’t forget you are doing this experiment and panic that you have seen blood!
A health colon has an elimination time of 18-24 hours, however bear in mind that if you have eaten a big fat steak before doing this – you may slow this down a bit.
If you are a raw food loving vegetarian things might move a bit quicker for you and the intestine is a tube and this experiment isn’t conducted in isolation (unless you want to make your self very hungry! I know I don’t).
When you first begin colon cleansing , you may have a “back-log” of fecal matters stored in the body, so colon cleansing can induce side effects like headaches, fever, joint pains, fatigue and cold. These kinds of side effects are usually not severe and usually lasts for a short period of up to three days and they occur during the process of the colon cleansers stimulating the entire body to rid itself of the toxins and excess buildup. If you are using coffee enemas you can expect even more detox symptoms – as the primary mechanism of the coffee enema is to cleanse the liver, bile and blood (not the colon) so it ads a whole new level to the detox.
Always take responsibility for your own health – if you are experiencing prolonged or severe symptoms don’t hesitate to consult a doctor to ask for medical attention.
